Dear Parents and Players of Methuen Youth Baseball,
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to the upcoming 2020 Baseball Season. We are looking forward to seeing all the returning and new players this season of baseball!
And while we all know how exiting Fortnite has been, we are very eager to see those fresh, young faces on the ballfields come Opening Day! During a time when baseball has been losing the battle against other sports, we look forward to showing you, and your players just how much fun baseball really can be!
We are a new Board this year, and want to make sure that the community knows how dedicated we are to bringing the fun back to baseball!! Our goals are field improvements and better communication throughout the league. Our door/email/phones are always open for any questions, comments, or suggestions. We really want to make it the best season for all the kids!
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our new Executive Board! We have a new President, William Page, along with Paul Brown, Vice President of Cal Ripken. Along with our newly appointed Vice President of Babe Ruth, Dave Cooper. Continuing their roles are Treasurer, Tom Godek, and Secretary, Lauren Murray. All have had various (and often multiple) roles either on the board, or throughout the league, for several years. We also would like to extend a warm thank you to our new 2020 Board Members. We applaud each of you for the time you have given so freely and the sacrifices each of you are committing to help make Methuen Youth Baseball a well-respected league, within the surrounding communities. The sacrifices of everyone’s time and efforts, including your unwavering dedication to this league, are greatly appreciated.
Do you want to get more involved with our League? Help make our League even better and show your support? Would you like to be involved and be part of the Board? Each September we welcome new board members for those would like to assist in the running of our league. We welcome everyone, as it is our volunteers that make us such a great program. Please contact us if you are interested. Details will be presented further into the season.
MYB is 100% self-funded and 100% run by volunteers. It is our volunteers that make our program great and we call upon everyone to help out. Volunteering your time only goes to further the betterment of the players within our league, so please don’t be shy -- just ask any board member, “How can I help?” Help comes in many forms such as; coaching, concession stand workers, field maintenance, help get sponsorship, etc. No matter how you volunteer, we are confident you will find it is one of the most satisfying things you can do for your kids!
Our income comes entirely from registration fees, fundraisers, the concession stand, and sponsorships. Our expenses include uniforms, equipment (catchers gear, baseballs, etc), utilities, insurance, field maintenance and umpire fees. So, it comes down to our parents, board members and volunteers to put in the effort, like those in the past, to continue to raise funds for the league’s financial needs.
We are in need of sponsors for our 2020 season to help with our program costs. Do you know a local business owner who is interested in supporting their community? What about a restaurant or salon you have been visiting for years, a local mechanic, realtor, or that contractor/repair man you recommend to all of your neighbors? If you do, please contact us at, Methuencrbr@gmail.com to get a sponsorship package/form.
Our league is truly a wonderful place to make and share memories with kids, families and friends. We are set for another fun and exciting baseball season and there is no better place for a family to watch a baseball game. Your children will always remember their time and experiences at MYB and we look forward to seeing you all out there on the field or in the bleachers being a part of Methuen Youth Baseball!!
